Shop The Products
I am always on the look out for new skincare brands, I was super excited to find out about Deciem’s The Ordinary line a few months ago. Deciem’s The Ordinary products take pride in creating their clinical formulations with integrity. Aim for complexion perfection with their nourishing oils and innovative serums that are free of parabens, sulphates and mineral oils. Last but not least their products are super affordable.
I ordered several products a couple of months ago, I wanted to use them for at least two months before giving you my opinion. I will go from my favorite products to the ones that didn’t work for me.
The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
What it does: alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA) exfoliate the skin’s top most surface for a brighter and more even appearance. Beta hydroxyl acids (BHA) also exfoliate the skin with an extended function to help clear pore congestion. This combined 32% AHA/BHA solution offers deeper exfoliation to help fight visible blemishes and for improved skin radiance. The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture and reduces the look of fine lines with continued use.
Pros: I use it once a week, the first time I put it on I felt a little bit of tingling, but nothing I couldn’t handle. It makes my skin super smooth, removes all the dead skin. It really makes my skin glow.
Cons: None
The Ordinary Coverage Foundation

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation
What it does: it is a coverage Foundation is a full coverage foundation with a lightweight, creamy feel. Oh you guys this has become my holy grail foundation. I absolute live for it y’all!!
Pros: First of all the price: $6!!! you cannot beat that. This foundation gives me great coverage, it has a very natural finish, it reminds of the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r foundation. It has a semi-matte finish. I wear it all day, and it stays put, it does not oxidize, it does not break me out and most importantly it does not make my skin oily. It also has SPF.
Cons: None, I love it!
100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil

The Ordinary Argan Oil
What it does: this formulation uses 100% pure Moroccan Argan Seed Oil extracted through a cold pressing that preserves the integrity of the oil’s fatty acids. The oil supports healthy skin and reduces the appearance of flaking. It also adds soft sheen and strength to hair.
Pros: I love love this argan oil, I use it daily as my moisturizer, it hydrates my skin without leaving it oily or clogging my pores. I find it way more moisturizing than the Josie Maran. It does wonders for my dry cuticles and my scalp.
Cons: None!
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid
What it does: it brightens the skin tone while visibly improving the evenness of skin texture and reducing the look of blemishes.
Pros: this is one of my favorite products in the line, I have used it daily, AM and PM. I suffer from acne, and I have the bad habit of picking my pimples, so I get a lot of acne marks. This has really helped fade my dark marks and even out my skin tone. My skin is definitely smoother and brighter.
Cons: it gathers and bundles, it is not great under makeup or when layered with certain products, it becomes really flaky.
The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%
What it does: this formula combines very high concentrations of two of the most powerful and important antioxidants in skincare: Resveratrol and Ferulic Acid. Resveratrol is a natural phenol found in several plants and our pure source is 100% derived from Japanese Knotweed. Ferulic Acid is a high-potency phytochemical antioxidant found naturally in walls of plant cells.
Pros: I like how it feels on my skin, it really penetrates nicely.
Cons: I cannot say that this product made any difference for my skin, I really didn’t see any benefits.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
What it does: this formula uses three forms of HA with varying molecular weights, as well as an HA crosspolymer, to offer multi-depth hydration and visible plumping without drawing water out of the skin solely to improve temporary surface hydration.
Pros: None for me, it works great for a lot of people, but not for me.
Cons: Made my skin oily and broke me out.
The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
What it does: it helps reduce looks of puffiness and of dark circles in the eye contour. Additional studies have shown that caffeine can also reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Pros: I didn’t see any, I always have bags under my eyes, I was really hoping this would work for me.
Cons: I didn’t see any improvement, it didn’t reduce the puffiness at all.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%
What it does: Restore a bright, even tone and a smooth texture to your skin with this high-strength exfoliating serum.
Pros: none, nada, rien, niente!! This was the worst product for me.
Cons: gave me huge zits that were so hard to get rid off, I first thought my skin was purging, so although I was breaking out, I stuck with it.
After two straight weeks of breaking out, I gave up!
Overall, I was pretty happy I ordered The Ordinary products, even though some of the products didn’t work out for me. It’s amazing that they offer quality products at a much more affordable rate than the high-end brands.
Although some of the products didn’t work for me, it doesn’t mean it won’t work for you, so give them a try. Voila, I hope this helps, let me know in the comments if you have questions.
XOXO
